Prudent management of household/commercial garbage
The Next Generation ? Since 1962 South Tahoe Refuse and Recycling has been engaged in the prudent management of household and commercial garbage. The next generation of Lehmans, Tillmans and Marchini Families are still in full service to the community. Due to the unique and sensitive region of our service area, collection services demand continuous adjustments in best practices to keep pace with the ever-changing demographics. It is the unwavering commitment to an environment with specialized needs that has compelled South Tahoe Refuse toward certain changes in philosophies, procedural disciplines, and service programs. The collaboration of local agencies, authorities, and collection services has resulted in the combined endeavors to address two important aspects of globally accepted core sustainability principles, and the local designation for the care of our region?s delicate biosphere. · The Domain of Life: Providing for changes in behavior that respects the balance of relationships between different forms of life while sharing the same physical space. · The Spiritual Domain: Ethical behavior by society regardless of setting. The attitudinal orientation for actions to positively reinforce sustainability practices on a local level, incorporating the strategy for awareness and change. It is with these core principles we ask that everyone who shares our community, whether permanently or as a visitor, to be mindful, respectful, and act with consideration for this amazing place. We are the care takers charged with the responsibility to preserve its beauty, and the delicate balance between humans and the environment. Thank you in advance for your support! South Tahoe Refuse and Recycling Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Sustainability is the ability to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It?s a balancing act, but everyone can do their part. Think reduce. It?s a step toward Zero Waste and reduced greenhouse gasses. Less demand means less stress on the environment to provide for us now, as well as future generations. Just using less plastic has a huge impact. Try eliminating just 1 plastic item from your life for one week. Could you live without it now? Even small efforts support sustainability. Think before you buy, before you use. Recycling helps, but Reduce and Reuse have the biggest impact. Conservation or smart use of water, fuels, energy, or commercially processed food can make a difference now and in the future.
